Which HARDI members will recycle the most mercury thermostats?

Posted May 12, 2015

It’s that time of year again…the launch of our 4th annual Big Man on Planet competition! Three years ago, in partnership with HARDI (Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International), we launched “Big Man on Planet” in an effort to provide a fun competition among HARDI member distributors to see who could recycle the most mercury thermostats.  Last year’s competition results were amazing and our collection partners recovered more than 55,000 mercury thermostats!

Corken Steel Products, Crescent Parts & Equipment, and Johnstone Supply were the winners in 2014. Johnstone Supply also won in 2013, and Johnson Supply was the inaugural winner in 2012.

This year, we’ve decided to add more winners! We will choose one distributor from each tier below based on company size that will be recognized at the 2015 HARDI Annual Conference for recycling the most mercury thermostats (measured by pounds of mercury):

  • 1 – 10 branch locations
  • 11 – 40 branch locations
  • 41 – 100 branch locations
  • 101+ branch locations

And, we’ve sweetened the pot even more. We will give a $500 gift card to be used as an employee incentive to the branch location from each tier that recycles the most mercury thermostats!

All HARDI distributors may sign up at www.trcprod.wpengine.com/bmop by 5/31 to participate, and once signed up they will receive promotional toolkit downloads via Email to promote their participation. So far we have 15 distributors signed up. So, what are you waiting for? Be in it to win it!
