TRC Elects New Board Member, Announces BMOP Competition Results
Fort Washington, PA, December 1st 2016 – The Thermostat Recycling Corporation (TRC) has two big announcements that will be acknowledged at the upcoming HARDI annual conference held at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs from December 3rd-6th. TRC is pleased to announce the appointment of its newest board member Rob Munin, President and CEO of Lux Products Corporation, and TRC has wrapped up the annual Big Man On Planet (BMOP) competition and is excited to announce the results.
New board member Rob Munin has served as the CEO and president of LUX Products Corporation since April 2015. With more than 25 years of marketing and sales leadership building brands and expanding markets in the retail and wholesale channels, Rob proudly brings his commitment and dedication to the HVAC industry.
“I am excited and honored to have been selected as TRC’s newest board member and look forward to providing a unique perspective and fresh ideas in guiding the future of the company,” said Munin.
Rob has joined the TRC team just in time to witness the finale of the company’s annual Big Man on Planet campaign. This competition ran from May through October, pitting HVAC Wholesalers against each other in a friendly competition to see who could recycle the most mercury thermostats in the given time period. TRC has announced the three winners to be Johnson Supply for highest participation rate, Gustave A Larson Company for highest average thermostat return per branch, and Johnstone Supply for most mercury recycled during the campaign. These three companies will each receive a trophy at the annual HARDI conference in December.

It has been great to see so many HARDI companies interested in promoting mercury thermostat recycling in the spirit of competition and as stewards of the environment,” said Thermostat Recycling Corporation Executive Director Ryan Kiscaden.
The three branches that individually recycled the most mercury thermostats were awarded catered dinners for staff courtesy of TRC. The top three branches were Johnstone Supply in Golden Valley, MN, Auer Steel in Milwaukee, WI, and Johnstone Supply in Bloomington, MN.
